Tag lights: lights that illuminate your registration or license plate whichever you may call it.

I've never heard them referred to as that. The license plate light is just a standard 168 bulb. If you want to go with LED, just get a 168/194 wedge LED bulb like one of the ones here: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/m...hite,136,4627:

You'll want to get one with a dedicated LEDs facing outward so it will adequately replace the incandescent. Or something like this: http://www.vleds.com/bulb/194-168-15...25-1-pair.html I've had good luck with vleds ebay store and have purchased from them several times in the past. If you search eBay and the like, you'll find hundreds of options, but remember that LEDs aren't created equal, and quality and technology makes a big difference. For something as non-crucial as a license plate light, most SMD-type LEDs with proper firing patterns will get you what you're looking for.

What you need to make sure you get to have plenty of brightness is 5050 SMD LEDs. Sometimes they just say SMD but they're MUCH brighter than a standard LED.

Yeah, I bought a pair from AutoZone. Save your money, they are very dim. I'll have to order a $14.99 pair from eBay, cheaper than AZ's $9.99 per bulb price.

T10 too big for the license plate lights? You sure about that one? T5s are used for the tiniest of wedge bulbs such as those found in gauge clusters, radio button back lights and HVAC back lights. T10 replaces wedge bulbs such as those found in marker lights, license plate lights and interior courtesy lights. These, of course are still a smaller wedge than those like the 921 bulb often used for CHMSLs which are still smaller than 315x series of tail light/turn signal bulbs.
