Hi guys,
just wanted to post some pics of some custom lights for the cup holder in my 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo. While looking in the WK forum I came across a guy who was making them for his WK model and they looked awesome. He began to get tons of requests to make them for other members and started doing so. I and a bunch of others kept asking him to make some to fit other models such as my 2000 and he did. If you want to see pictures of some some he has made and pictures of others who have installed them in there Jeeps go to the WK forum and browse for lighted cup holders or here is the link http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/wk-possibly-others-led-lighted-cupholders-1484603/ I will try to upload some pics of mine if I can figure it out. I should have taken them at night because they look really awesome then, so not sure if yiou can get the feel with the pics I took in the day. The ligths are cool, it comes with a controller that allows you to choose many different colors,(red, green, blue, orange, turquise, etc) and 4 brightness levels. You can even tell it to randomly change colors automatically and the speed at which the colors change. Anyway here are my pics:
Yes it is wood grain. I ordered a kit for the 2000 model and it came with lots of pieces. even the face of the radio/cd/casette is wood grain. Ive never had too many spiils in mine but i know what you mean. Jeeps cup holders dont seem to hold tall containers as secure as others, but mine have done pretty well or maybe Ive just been lucky lol
Thanks Craig. You do awesome work. I should have taken more pics with all the different colors. My phone kind of washes out the color a little when it takes the pics. so in person the color is way more vivid, the pictures really dont do them justice. You should post the direct link on how to order them from you for all the WJ owners who may want some. Plus I would like it to so I can order the remote control feature for the LED's.

It's not just your WJ that has poorly designed cup holders, I have a 2012 Mazda 3 that likes to spill just about every darn thing you put into the 'holders'
They are 37.50 shipped anywhere in the US. That includes a pair of rings, a Y splitter, the RGB controller, and a pair each of wire taps and spade connectors.
What do they tap into, and where do you store the controller? In the ash tray, or in my case, the empty space where an ash tray would go? I wish someone would make a small drawer, like what I used to have on my '91 XJ.
Just a heads up guys, I've currently got about 5 sets on hand for anyone interested. Once they are gone, it will be a couple of weeks before I have the parts to make more.
They use inline RGB controllers. That means you can choose from 20 different colors at 5 light intensity levels. I'm pretty sure you'll find a combination you like. I've got examples of each color on the order page.
Sorry it took a while to answer. I think I ordered it from carID and I think it was made by Remin. But later on after googling woodgrain dash kits for 2000 grand cherokee a site came up that had all the pieces the remin kit had plus the shifter pieces and a piece that went on the face of the Radio/Cassette/CD. i called that company and told them I had bought a kit from remin earlier but now wished I had waited and found their site since I really liked those pieces. Anyway we e mailed back and forth a couple of times and they agreed to just cut those two pieces for me. they charged me the price for each piece and maybe a little more. The problem is I cant remember the second company I got those pieces from. I think I saw a picture of it somewhere and would just google it in different ways( woodgrain dask kits or jeeps, woodgrain trim for Grand cherokee etc) until I stumbled upon it. But yeah if you can find it just order the whole kit from them since theirs has more pieces then the kit from Remin
can you still use the cup holders with these installed? seems like a silly question but I've noticed many drinks tend to sweat and leave water puddled in the holders.
They both will measure 68mm and should fit perfectly in the bottom. Are you sure you have two different diameters on yours? As far as I know, all WJ's should be the same. If yours is not, I'd certainly like to know so I could adjust my fitment.
