iPod Solutions - 04 Overland w/Nav

I know there are past posts which discuss various solutions, but wanted to see any recent experiences. Also, seems some of the products mentioned in older posts are not available now or do not work with Nav equipped models.

Looking for experiences with current products which will allow connection of an iPod to a 2004 Grand Cherokee Overland with RB1 Nav. Prefer one which allows steering wheel controls and does not disable the CD changer, but not a show stopper.

Anyone using a solution which works with this model and options?

Thanks, that uses FM modulation - was hoping for experiences with direct connect options.

Sorry. I must say, though, that I get CD quality audio. No support for steering wheel controls, like you said, though. From my research, seems like your only option is a new head unit.

I have the RB1 Nav and the best solution I found is the Auxiliary jack modification. Very simple and great quality. I had a FM modulator and the quality was terrible. Still no controls on the steering wheel but very clean look.

The only way to use the RB1 and keep the CD changer with the ipod is to use the factory Mopar kit. I dont have the part number handy at the moment but Ive installed several of them and the quality is awesome. Installation is simple and the ipod unit is controlled just like the CD changer. Cost is high yes but thats the only way to keep the CD changer and you can control the Ipod using the rb1 headunit and all your steering controls still work perfectly.

I hate iPod control through the head unit. Why take one of the most simple, intuitive GUIs and pipe it into a 10 year old RB1 (which I find to have a very clumsy UI). If there were an easy aux-jack mod I'd be all over it. However, I couldn't solder my way out of a plastic bag. I have an older FM modulator that I've used in 3 consecutive cars now that actually works pretty good. The only issue is when I travel outside my normal driving area and I have to start finding new open frequencies. That part sucks.

I have the RB1 nav radio and use the Neo Prolink kit from this site http://www.icarkits.com/. I removed the CD changer and use the input on the radio for the Neo. There is no display of the ipod on the RB1 but it still retains the steering wheel controls to navigate through the songs. It's the best of both worlds for me... retaining the simple ipod interface and/or using the steering wheel controls when I just want to navigate through a play list.
