Question Installing new ball joints on wj question

Hey Fella's, whats going on. So I just recently purchased front lower and upper ball joints for my jeep ( 2004 Grand Cherokee ). I ordered them from quadretec. (Part #5012432AA). I ordered 2 sets for both sides. when I received the parts quadretec had sent me I noticed they sent 1 set of the 5012432AA and 1 set of the 5012432. They did not send the 2 sets of the 5012432AA. So when I was in stalling them yesterday, I noticed the shafts on the lower ball joints were the same length and taper. As for the uppers, they were different Tapers and length. One was longer than the other. And the tapers were lightly different. So my driver side I have done and hub assembly seated perfectly to the rubber boots on the new ball joints. As for my driver side, I have a 1/4" gap be for the assembly seats to the upper ball joint while the bottom joint the assembly is fully seated to the rubber seal. So my question is what am I missing here?

Do I have the right joints? Is this small gap normal for the upper ball joint? Scratching my head here.....

I don't remember any difference between the uppers when I did mine, and they both looked the same when I was done. I'd call Customer Service and ask them.

That's what I was gonna do, but I don't wanna look like a dumb a$$ when I ask them. I figured they should all be the same. currently I don't have a vehical because My driver side is tore all apart via the upper ball joint being different.....

Go to oreilly and get a new BJ. Have QT refund your money if it's your DD. I say oreilly/Kragen because that's the only place I know of that carries Moog off the shelf.

so its safe to assume I have the wrong joint?
