I could really use some help. 9hrs away from home.

My 01 wj 4.0 stalled when I was trying to enter a hwy. It later started but I found this hose open. I'm hoping it's the culprit. I'm on my phone with painfully slow Internet so ask for your help... What is this? And where does it go?
Thank you jeepforum.

At home for lunch and just checked. 99% sure that's the Evaporator drain. Mine is open also. Any codes? When you turn the key is it crank no start?

After it died on me, it wouldn't start, 10 min later I tried again and it ran normally, I'm now in a parking lot researching this issue.

That open hose was the first thing I saw and I was hoping it was the culprit

Sounds to me like the Crankshaft Position Sensor is on its way out. I recommend checking for any codes first.

If it is the CKS: 2004 4.0 Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Yesterday on the highway, the jeep jerked and turned off my cruise control.. Other than that, it drove fine.
