Well, well, since my GC was totaled by rear end accident, its now almost parted out, and the hunt for a new GC has started.

I would like to upgrade to a couple year newer, and hopefully lower milage than the one i had, if i can find one (2000 with 170k km), preferable a 04HO

This is my best potential new GC by now,
http://www.finn.no/finn/car/used/obj...95&editAd=true
Might talk it down in price due to 180K km service needed and not done, new brakes needed, and some rocker guard rust (which all 04's have).
One heated mirror is also out of order.
But all this is minor things, i can Fix myself, if price is right.

The other one i got offered, is this dark grey one, 200k km,,,
Looks Good, minor scratches rear bumper, start to rust inside doors, waterleak That might been fixed in the rear/roof, converterd to LPG but can still be run on gas.
Its upgraded with front and rear Addco's and new springs'n shocks, PO also did replace MANY bushings, and newly serviced.
UC springs, bilstein shocks, Xtra driver seat, trailready front bumber, and NAVI headunit, Are xtra's i can have with it if i like.

I am leaning towards the Black one, due to less km, rust and waterleak on the grey one, also dont fancy the LPG thingy
Grey look better than black IMO though.

What you guys think???

I like the Gray one except for the LPG set up. I would look for a newer one 2003-2004.

I like the black one too.........but the grey one has nicer wheels!.......i'm guessing you would be putting the ones from your old Jeep anyway. If be happy with either as I've owned a lpg powered V8 before...Audi A8 4.2. Great fun and cheap to run. Where is the lpg tank positioned in it? In the spare wheel well or in the trunk? One is too small and the other is in the way when you load up!

Like the look of the gray, especially the wheels, but I would go for less miles and less trouble.
I am glad you are back in the hunt, now. I want to see pictures of the new build.

Since you basically have a second WJ in parts except for the HO engine,
I would get whichever one has the best condition body and interior.
But then, I'm not really too choosy about the color of used vehicles, especially when you're talking about hard to find versions.

This is what i am looking for,
Rust,
Body damage, bumbs and scratches,
Low milage,
Full service History/record,
Maintainance, parts changed, upgrades,
Overall condition, paint, , color, interior, wheels'n tires.

Rust is like cancer, once started, hard to Get rid of, will mostly come back in 2-3 years.
Body damages, bumbs and scratches, Are expensive to repair and never look the best after repaint, hard to match old color/paint 100%.
Low milage, this is by far the most important factor!
Full service record is very important, especially with These 4.7's and 545RFE trans, and Quadradrive diffs'n transfer.
Parts changed and upgraded will last long time, parts not replaced, will wear out soon and need to be changed.
Overall tech, paint, and interior condition Are also important,

The grille catches my eye. I've never seen Overlands over here with that style with the painted and chrome on the 2004. Also seems like it has the 02-03 style seats. Still pretty nice though.

Good on you for walking on that deal. Rust and no Kate Upton as upgrade accessories are deal breakers!
