HELP... WJ gremlins

Hey guys, well my first real problem I can seem to sort out myself... My whole drivers door card (windows, mirrors, locks, ECT.....) has stopped working. Only thing that works is the light to says the door is open, and that is always on because the car thinks the door is open when it's not, it's all related... I'm lost

Also at the same time, when I put the dual climate control on cold it comes out hot, and when I put it on hot it comes out cold.... It's all related I hope

What would cause this? I've tested the power and am getting power down to the door, but nothing happens.

Al help appreciated thanks

All the door controls and light staying on are all related to broken wire going from body to door.

Unclip the rubber boot by hand and inspect the wiring going from the door to the body it's very common for the earth wire to break.

Some use connectors to make the repair but there is a lot of flexing each time the door is opened closed and tends to break again in the future. A better option is to solder in a extension piece of cable about 6 inchs in length (same diameter as original ) and use heat shrink to cover the joint.
You can remove the panel in footwell to expose the other side of cable only takes a couple of mins and it will give you plenty of space to allow you solder on the extension piece of cable then feed it back up through rubber boot and solder it to other end of broken cable. Makes a nice neat job with the heat shrink the extra length of cable relives the stress on wiring to give a lasting repair.

Your other problem with the heating sounds like blend doors faulty.

Thanks Tom, will check that earth wire first chance I get..

In regards to the air situation, I don't think it's the blend doors as everything is brand new and also it all works perfectly apart from the digital display... Like it's opposite, unsure why...as it started exactly when the door panel started playing up

X2 about the door wiring, I did this on my jeep about 6 months ago, my door buttons would not work if the door was open more than an inch, and the light would stay on.. Pretty simple fix

Well thanks guys for your help, it was the earth wire after all... Just added and extra 1/2 ich of wire to the overall length to avoid it braking again..

Also my heater/cooling problem was fixed also... Funny how a earth wire from the door would cause that problem as it's not connected. Weired

But all fixed thanks
