Heated Wing Mirrors...

On The UK Based 2.7 CRD WJ'S are both wing mirrors heated and do they both have the heating element sybols in the corners? Just Curious as I only have the heating element displayed on the passengers wing mirror, the drivers side has nothing. I am aware that they only heat up when using the rear demister.

Any one??

Not UK based but here are my thoughts. The driver side would be heated if only one was. Most likely both are heated but the side without the symbol has had the mirror replaced at some point. Behind the mirror lies a heater element film, so the mirror can be replaced with anything that can fit the opening. My pass. side mirror was replaced with the new one being glued directly on the broken mirror so as to not possibly damage the heater element by prying off the broken mirror. Makes sense or not? J.

Yeah, that's what I thought. It looks as though the wing mirror has been replaced although not stuck on like yours.

I replaced my drivers side mirror with an aftermarket one from rockauto.com (brand tyc). It is heated, but does not have the symbol on the glass. Must be cheaper to leave the symbol out. The heating element works great.
