headline cable routing WJ

Is there any easy way to get cables routed above the headliner? Is there an easy path? My first attempt didnt produce any pathways. I dont want to pull the entire headline, just find a way to get a cable from the front to the back (camera)

Should be able to run it down either side, but you need to pull grab handles, lights, coat hangers, visor, upper seat belt mounts, lower plastics and possibly the dome light in the cargo area. Also don't forget to pull down the rubber door seals for both doors on whichever side you choose. After removing all of these things, you can pull down that side of the head liner just enough to run wire. It's kind of a *****, but not too bad. If that's possible haha..

Lower plastics need to come off in some places to get the uppers off. Grab handle for front seat area is I think an 8MM socket, you'll likely need to grind down the diameter of the socket to fit in the tiny hole unless you have an actual nut-driver, I think those are thinner walls than sockets.

Good luck.

The headliner isn't so bad. Takes some time & patience. While up there, be sure to clean out/flush the sunroof drain tubes. When you sunroof carrier breaks, the job will be a little easier to replace the assembly.

Even better! When you do it, leave a "runner" string up there so you can snake something else through the headliner for next time and not have to drop the headliner.
