Hey Fellas,
Time to get some work done to my wifes WJ. Im going to be gone for awhile and want to have her Jeep squared away before I leave.
Plans are:
-Fluids all the way around (trans,TC,diffs)
-Brakes & Rotors
-Hub assemblys (wheel bearings are bad)
-Shocks (Going with Bilstein)
-CAI (Thinking aFe Stage 2 but havent decided 100%)
-Fuel Filter
-Spark plugs,wires,cap,rotor (standard tune up)
-Undercoat
The main concern I have is putting in the wrong fluids. I know for the trans to put in ATF+4, however I was thinking Amsoil but when reading on WJjeeps it states to only use Mopar, obviously thats what Chrysler is going to recommend. Same goes with the TC and diffs, I would like to go with a higher quality fluid but Im skeptical going with a synthetic, and also what viscositys to go with.
I had planned to go talk to a dealership but I already know how that conversation will go.
Any help and opinions is greatly appreciated.
The Jeep has 105,000 miles on her.

If you have used conventional oil for 105k then I wouldn't switch to synthetic now it might cause oil leaks.
As far as the trans and diffs I use royal purple atf-4 and 75/140 in both diffs with a little mopar friction modifier. I hear alot of people like the red line fluids and I would use as well if someone in Pittsburgh sold it.

@jeep04
Thanks for the info. Ill stick with conventional fluids due to the mileage. Ill just pick up some Valvoline or something and not worry about putting in the "best" fluids.
@Gazaway
Thanks for that update. I havent even noticed the lack of plug wires under the hood. Ill have to look into these coil packs so I dont say something so stupid again.

Trans: any ATF+4 will work fine. The formula is dictated by Chrysler, they have to make it correctly to be licensed to call it ATF+4.
Transfer Case: use Mopar NV245/247/249 fluid ONLY. Mopar part 05016796AC.
Differentials - use 75W140 gear oil, 2.5 oz Mopar Friction Modifier front, 4.0 oz rear. The only two gear oils that work right out of the bottle are Redline 75W140 and Amsoil Severe Gear 75W140. Everything else needs the friction modifier added. I run the Redline, it works great. You'll need a total of 4 quarts for both diffs.

Coil packs are sexy for the most part...they work or don't. Spark plugs...not that's something that can use a change. Use the factory champions for predictable results. Exotics are not known to behave the best in the 4.7.
