Angry Gas Mileage

Have a 2000 JGC Lmt with all wheel drive and a 4.0 L and I'm getting around 13 miles to a gallon. This seems low so I changed the air filter but no better. What are other people getting and is there anything I can do?

96 4.0L I get 15 mpg only when letting my jeep sit in my driveway warming up in the winter. Usually 18-21 mpg and I'm anal about recording my mileage every fill up.

When my mileage went down I replaced the cat, muffler, o2 sensor and did a tune up. my gas mileage went up from an all time low of 15 to 18 the next fill up.

Went on a trip to Canada last summer towing a 20' boat and averaged 20 mpg. Normal driving around town about 15-16, unless I'm running "ricers" then it's about 10 mpg

Mine seemed to get better gas mileage as I added mod's. If I drive normally that is, the problem is after you add the mods your foot get's a little heavy, go figure?

I get about 14.5 in the city on normal days. On bad days, who knows, but it's low and depressing...

Hey good thinking. Your clever.

How about a skateboard with untrawide towing trucks. They get great mileage.

I averaged around 15 before I swapped in the 231 transfercase. Now I'm getting 20-23 highway and 15-16 city.

Don't stomp on it every time you take off?

I've got a 2000 WJ with the 4.7l and I get about 17-18 around town and 20-21 at 75mph on the highway, jumping to 80mph drops me to 19-20.

Oh yeah, and if what everyone posts about the K&N FIPK, get one of those, supposedly it helps gas milage and power. I dont know yet, havent gotten around to it yet.

I have a 94 zj with the 4.0L and I get about 14 city, 18 highway. So , as the original poster asked, what can be done to improve this? It seems that the average is about 18 city, 22 hw. And what the heck is the K&N FIPK?????

Thanks a lot!
