I got a code for my WJ. one is for the brake light on. It says G switch failure. Were and what is a G switch for the Wj. It is a 4.0 00. I have never heard of a G switch lol.

Maybe it's like the G-spot on a Jeep. Treat your Jeep really nice. Take her out for a nice drive and car wash and maybe she will let you know where that G-switch is.

Only thing I can think of is the push plunger style switch on the brake pedal. Cant be 100% on that, but thats the only brake light switch I know of. Pretty simple to replace.

You also have to drive her in in just the right position.

Constantly emptying every pocket

It's under the back seat. Maybe this diagram which shows the location of the G-switch connector will help.

G probably means G-force. Many vehicles have one that acts as a fuel cut-off when it experiences high G's ( like 4 G's or so) which would indicate a crash. My old Ford Exploder had one......

Are you getting any other codes? I was getting G Switch and ABS Pump failure codes simultaneously. Intermittantly. I kept resetting the codes and they kept reappearing. I replaced the G Switch and the codes kept on coming. *#@*!

I ending up replacing the Controller Anitlock Brakes (CAB). Problem solved. $$$....

Hopefully, replacing your switch will help the 'old girl' out. Maybe a bottle of Ripple Wine will loosen her up.

I had g switch code along with a host of others related to the abs system..still trying to find time to try and fix the solder points on the module or get a new one if that fails.

00' Laredo w/4.7, 2.5/2" fat bobs coil spring lift, front 3/4" spacer, bilsteins 5100's from Kolak, rear addco w/greasable bushings, 245/16/75 treadwright wardens, 247>242 transfer case swap, all control arms replaced with aftermarket, and lots more $ into various parts
