Wj Fuel pump noise after fuel filter change

First off let me say I'm new to owning a Jeep and also a new member here with limited search for now.

Back to the issue... Over the weekend I installed a Wix Fuel Filter from O'Reilly Auto Parts because I was changing all the filter and fluids in the vehicle because it was new to me. I always do this with new to me vehicles to have a starting point on maintenance.

Well yesterday I noticed a loud buzzing/humming noise coming from the fuel tank area. This morning it was louder then yesterday and I'm curious if the new filter is causing the fuel pump to over work or what.

I'm thinking I should go buy an OEM fuel filter from Jeep and install that tonight before any damage is done to the fuel pump. What are your thoughts?

Thank you in advance for you help!

You could try another filter and see if the filter is the issue. It does act as a pressure regulator as well as a filter. Buzzing/humming normally indicates excessive load on the pump either due to a restriction or the pump itself binding.
