Front drive shaft?

Hey guys, i am looking at lifting my jeep and i keep hearing that the front drive shaft will brake or fall off, do i need to worry about this i have the 2001 GC with 242 transfer case is there a easy way to tell what type of front drive shaft i have?

How high are you planning on going? If you are planning on 4" or more then your drive shaft will probably fail eventually. I do not think it will break off pre sey but will give you vibrations indicating that the joint on the Xfer case is shot. some one correct me if I am wrong. Once it goes change it to a double carden shaft.

You should only worry about an AM driveshaft if your planning on serious crawling or going with a 4in lift or higher, Ive got a 3.5in lifted GC stock Driveshafts does just fine

Im talking about a little mudding and tops of a 3" lift kit any one else make a good 3" lift kit besides IRO?
