Fawkes stand alone shackle tab review

Hello all, so I preordered Fawkes new product, got to my house earlier than expected, everything that I needed was in the box (besides d-rings) even came with some new push pins for the bumper. Installation went smooth, much more simple than the factory tow hooks. Just a plate on top and the shackle tabs on bottom. They look amazing and seem very strong, haven't tried them out yet but have no doubts they will do just fine. In my opinion this is the best non-winch front end recovery available for the wj

Very nice, anyway we can get a close up shot of that?

Sure, just give me a minute.

Those looks nice. I'm guessing they are way to install? Nice AT3s by the way

Nice! I have the factory hooks in the front from the upcountry package and they're about to come out for these!

Definitely do it! These are 30 times better than the factory hooks. They will hold up to 30k pounds or something before breaking.. Not that you would ever want that much weight on them but still haha

Thanks haha, I love them they are unbeatable in the snow and great with everything else too, not bad for the money . Very easy to install, takes 10 minutes to get the bumper off. The instructions do a very good detailed job of explaining it

Yep, good stuff!

You should probably get the Fawkes mini max, or what ever its called but bull bars bolt up the the same spot as these, their product allows you to have both

His standard style that angle down should fit with a brush guard; depends how the guard mounts.

Here is mine with the standard style and bullbar relocation brackets;
The stand alones basically come straight out in the same spot as the stock tow hooks.

thanks for the extra pics. Those look great. I like the ability to mount the bullbar and these together as texlurch has done. not everybody wants or needs a giant winch bumper. nice to have options.

rcwj04 04-05-2013 08:22 PM

Exactly, I had a set of stock tow hooks but I wasn't really looking forward to putting them on because they are pretty weak. Sold them when I saw these. I pulled my buddy down a street earlier today and they did just fine
