Exhaust Options

I'm curious what would you all say is the best option as far as Exhausts go. I have a stock 2003 Grand Limited with quadra drive and 4.7 ltr V8. I wouldn't want anything too loud, maybe a few more HP and not much of a drone on the highway. Is a full custom exhaust the way to go or get a kit? Magnaflow or Flowmaster. I had a magnaflow race muffler on my Porsche and it sounded good.

yea a kolak exhaust with a flowmaster7 0 series should do it for you

the 40 series might be to loud for you. check out this video comparing the 2 YouTube - Kolak Exhaust on a WJ: Flowmaster 70 Series vs Super 40

can email kolak/nick at kolak@aol.com he can tell you everything you need to know. might want to add a cold air intack with a bigger TB as well for more power

you can check out the exhaust I have.... don't know if it is comparable to what Kolak offers but I paid less than $200. You can find it here but the price is high..... Doug Thorley Exhaust

here is the video of mine from my build thread.

i believe their is also a super 44 that is deeper

and a 50 series that is quieter then the 40.

just if you want it to be quite in the cabin make sure you get quieter ones.

talk to Kolak he can help you allot

How do you like it? Did you notice a gain in power?

I installed Kolak's system on my 99. I went with the 70 series muffler. Absolutely love it. My pants get tight in the crotch when I hit the throttle. worth every penny!

to be honest with you I have no clue..... Even if it gave me 10+ HP I don't think anybody would be able to fully tell you there is a gain in power unless you got on a dyno or went to the track.

But it does make me THINK it has more power with the rumble underneath I just like the way it sounds, wasn't really looking for extra power when I bought it.... it never hurts though and it can't hurt it I just wanted something to beef up the exhaust a little and I have had nothing but compliments on mine.

if you don't want a drone or it to be too loud, but still have a nice mellow tone when you hit the skinny pedal, i would suggest the wide body magnaflow.

If you plan on doing a long arm lift down the road the 70 series will be hard to make work. I went with a 50 series with my clayton lift. I think it's like 8 inches shorter. FYI
