Unhappy Errors, Repairs what next

Hello all,

Again I am looking for answers to my dilemma. I Had error codes, made repairs but didn't get the results you would expect. After changing plugs, changing fuel injectors and rotating coils I still had a ruff idle. So mechanic here I come. Mechanic found a lot of sludge in engine. So we used brake cleaner to remove a lot of the gunk. Ran detergent (sea foam) through engine to clean it out. changed oil. Next I had all 16 lifters changed. I went to pick up car today, paid nearly $500 for work put in. However idle was not smooth. Mechanic said all misfires cleared except #1 cylinder. Was told that I should drive it because as I drove it the cylinder would start running normally as detergent clear out gunk. Mechanic that worked on my car was not there when I got there. I am going to speak with mechanic in the morning because I am not comfortable with outcome. After $500 I think it should run smoothly. Any thoughts about this?

Also while I was changing the injectors I heard a sound come from the bottom of my car that sounded like an air brake on a semi. Any idea what this might have been.

Totally indebted to you,
Larry (juney)
