Engine Install!?!

need some advice pretty bad guys...
so i got my engine back from the shop today finally and im having a little trouble putting it back in...
what is the easiest way to install the engine back into the jeep?
i dont know if i should put the motor mounts on first of connect the flywheel?

I found it much easier to mate the transmission to the engine while the engine is still hanging by the engine hoist and not yet attached to the motor mounts.

With the engine hanging by the engine hoist and free from the motor mounts, you have more "wiggle" ability to get the two to mate correctly.

Once mated, then I got the engine/tranny combo into position to re-attach all mounting points.

I second the opinion of EMTIMZJ. It is easier to get all the bell housing bolts on with the engine suspended by the hoist. Then put in the motor mounts. I also didn't have the exhaust manifold on, but you could probably do it on or off. I just started adding parts to the engine once it was torqued correctly to the bell housing.

I actually found it easier to do it with the motor lowered through the motor mounts, hook it all back up and then lift it via the hoist to the mounts and bolt it in.

thanks guys i got it in last night i still need to torque everything down to spec but i lined the engine up first with everything free and took me a few hours...

I found mine was super easy with the mount off. Mate it to the tranny then install the mounts after and it went pretty well.
This was with the 4.7, I would think a 4.0 would be similar.

alright so everything is in now but went to start her up and no start... must have missed a connection somewhere...

for some reason i think its the crank sensor but i think that connection is in the back...

any ideas?
