Dual Climate Control light bulb blew

So I saw this morning that one of my lights on the dual climate is burned out. At first I thought it was no big deal, but after reading WJJeeps, it looks like they aren't really replaceable.

Has anyone had to do this before? If so what steps did you take? It looks like its going to be a pain. Why can't it be like my old ZJ where they were easy to replace?

it is really not difficult just take your time and be patient little things like that will eat you up over time and you will end up doing it any way thats how it always happens.

you have to be able to solder since they are solder onto a circuit board. if you mess up the link can destroy the unit or make things worse.

also have to find the bulb, no auto store by me had it and at dealer its around $2

its mostly a thing a person will want to do but not needed. theirs a boatload of other things that probably need to be done before this bulb on any of our wj's.
like the led not working on the heated switch, they go out but it still works

Climate Control Lights and Shifter Console Lights

I just purchased a USED WJ 2004 limited and noticed both the Shifter lights and the Climate Control lights are completely out. I read about what is needed to replace these and was hoping someone might know if there is a fuse that would cause this behavior? I do not want to take everything apart and then find out 1 fuse controlled all these light bulbs. All other lights work except the Radio seems to be completely dark except the display but this is my first WJ so I am not sure if that is normal.

Fuse #6 appears to control the back lights on the climate control, shifter console, and radio. I replaced the fuse and all lights are now working. Glad it was just a fuse as I was getting ready to take apart the dash and shifter. FYI, wjjeeps.com lists this fuse as park lamps.

I too have a an 04 WJ Limited. However all the lights are on except for the right side of the climate control knob and the passenger heater switch is off. The heater switch still powers on the seat heater. Just noticed this today, haven't driven it at night in a while so not sure how long it has been like this. I have read that some people say its easy to replace the bulbs and other say that you have to solder them back in and if you mess it up you can ruin the control circuit.
