It's the all the computer modules in the WJ that need a stable voltage to keep running makes it so sensitive.
If the OP has a good fully charged battery with clean tight battery terminals all the starting issues will disappear.
The earth in door is a secondary faulty and only draining the battery when parked up for a long time.
I doubt the alternator is faulty as I bet when jeep is running the voltage climes closer to 14v on dash display.
