Do I have a bad master cylinder?

ok so far I have replaced all pads and rotors. replaced rear caliper, and took WJ to a shop to have the entire brake fluid drained and flushed and bled.

I still have an occasional random "soft pedal" feel. Once in a while the pedal gets soft and takes more down pressure to apply brakes. I can let off the pedal fully and reapply and the pedal is solid and works great.

I am looking to trade/sell this WJ and I do not want to sell a known issue.

So...brake master cylinder?

other thoughts?

anyone?

dont want to start throwing parts at it if I am mistaken

If you bled the brakes properly, then yes, it's your brake master cylinder.

Have you checked your brake lines? Hard lines and soft lines? I would give those a once over as well.

yes. Though my M/C went leaky in the booster on me and got soft...

Yes. Check these as well.

I know brakes are critical, but how urgent is it to check/replace the lines and/or master cylinder? Right now, I'm having the same issue with some random sponginess, though it's neither regular nor predictable.

TY!

Your question is your answer. They are critical-period. What if it fails driving through a school zone? The highway?
Be smart and fix it right. Your life and other lives depend on it.

Mine were bled twice. Once by me. Once by a shop.

I don't notice any leaking. No loss of fluid

Please post follow up!

What was the outcome? Was the master replaced?
