i was just wondering if the sport had a frame under it.i had always diven a company truck.i wanted something i could pull a trailer to the dump, and haul my hunting gear around in .was going to look at small trucks, but i wanted some thing to put my grand daughter in the back.because i was buying something 12 years old,i didnt know if the Cherokee was built a little better frame wise,as i will probably have this for a while if it dosent break the bank to own. has 144,000 on .
Neither has a frame per-se...the XJ is fairly light duty, but you have to remember that it has the same structure as the Comanche pickup truck, so it is technically a 1/2 ton truck with a top on it. The WJ is similar in that it is built like a truck, but was never built as a truck, if that makes sense.
If you want "just ain't gonna die reliability" the XJ's a good bet. Take care of her and she'll drive you through the apocalypse.
As long as you don't get too excessive with the weight, it will tow and haul plenty.
