Deciding on a new muffler, magnflow vs flowmaster 40 series.

Greetings!

I'm looking to upgrade my muffler and as the title suggests, I've been looking at magnflow and flowmaster 40. I currently drive a 2002 4.7 V8 HO Overland, and over time I'll be upgrading it, it's my baby, lol.

It seems to me that most folks buy the flowmaster mainly for its sound? I've read on various forums other than jeep, and folks seem pretty partial to the flowmasters!

Now there's a catch! I'm legally deaf, so therefore sound is of no concern for me!

So to ask, is there much difference in terms of power, gas mileage, and performance between the two said mufflers based on your experiences/observations?

Flowmaster's sound the best. Period.
Iv'e has flowmaster super 40 and 44 on my other older GC Limited and sounded awesome with a kolak 3inch setup. You cant go wrong with flow...

He said hes legally deaf...sound dont matter.

Ive had flowmaster super 10s on my 2000 laredo. I setup duals on it and it sounded like a racr car ready for the track. Torque was significantly higher. Maybe 6% or so? Just a guess i didnt dyno it.

I also have a super 44 of my 2001 laredo. Torque is somewhat more. Maybe 2-3%? But Kolak 3" exhaust setup will probably be your best bet.

You can pm Kolak. Hes a vendor here on the forums. Great guy with a great setup. Great prices and second to none customer support.

Also as far as gain/loss in mpg no exhaust will net enough to be a landslide winner. Horsepower gain is almost the same.

Now if you srt up a 3" exhaust with a good TRUE cold air intake. Port and polish your throttle body youd see decent HP and torque gain.

Hope these posts helped
