Death Rattle (Shake)

Had the jeep for a few months now and its been great. Few small issues but nothing I couldn't fix by myself. Just wondering what this new problem could be. When pressing the brakes at above 80 km/h (around 50 mph) it sometimes shakes violently and it continues until I slow down. Anyone have this problem before? Any ideas?

Is it only when you're braking? Sounds like warped rotors to me...

Could be warped rotors that initiate death wobble even.

This bad?

But if the rotors are warped it will shake every time he stops

Brake pulsation. Mostly cause by a warped or damage rotor. wheel not seated properly and tq to right spec. Something is loose on the caliper. Brake pads are not worn the same. Look at some of these first.

its easy to tell if the rotor is warped. come to a dead stop and if the vehicle is rocking back and forth trying to stop then it is warped. take the wheels off and check it out

thanks for the replies. Not sure if thats what it looks like from the video. is that what it was for that jeep? The dealer I got from said they did a front brake job when I bought so I have no idea whats on there at the moment. Would still wobble even after I let go of the brakes? and yes it only does when I press the brakes but not every time.

You might just have a slight warp in the rotor. I noticed that as my old rotors became progressively worse the slower I was going I would notice the vibration. However in the beginning of warped rotors you usually only feel it at higher speeds when braking.

Summit Racing produces awesome slotted zinc rotors for a decent price that perform amazing. (if this is in fact your problem).
