Dakota 4.7L Swap

My brother has a 99 cherokee with a 4.7L. He needs a bottom end, he spun a rod bearing. The cheapest engine he has found is a 4.7 L out of a 2000 Dakokota with the same 16 tone crank shaft. Does any one know if this will work. It is 900 bucks cheaper then on out of a cherokee.
