Custom tube bumper

Heres the finished product, and the journey to get to it follows.

Started off with the idea of morphing the only 2 that I could find togeather.

bumper013.jpg

221523d1303699098-tube-bumper-build-jeepddd-1-.jpg
So with that I looked up diffrent ways of mounting it. Basic layout everyone used was the tow hook space. So we got 1/4" plate to sandwich the opening, matched the holes and welded some 3/8 nuts to it. Trying to just use material we had, we used some right angle tube we bent earlier to calibrate the bender and tacked it to the plate. Following the body line, we bent.up.the main tube and called it a night.

Day two the winch showed up which was great since we were waiting on it and the damn bushwackers to build the bumper.
Using 3/8 plate, we made the winch plate and tacked it down and.installed the winch so we could build around it.

With that all settled in we started.the next rail. Now if I were to.do.tjis again, we would have.done it.diffrently, mainly because the.hand plasma died and we had to knock this **** buy hand with a die grinder like 30x.

Then we just came up with a basic arch for the stinger. We ended up.knotching it to fit over the outer hoop.

Next part was the fun part, time cnc the 1" shackles. I knotched out.the front tubes to insert the shackle mounts into, and also drilled 1/2" holes in the.back to.plug weld.for.extra strength.

I scored some nice l.e.ds from phantom trailhawk. I took them all.apart and removed them from the cases. I then put them up to.the bumper and mounted them flush.

I see you hoop tied into where the tow hooks go. Did you tie the winch plate into anything else? If so post up pics of the other attachment points.

We also made tabs on the side to tie into the stock bumper locations. Added tubes to meet up.with the.fender flares. powdercoated then installed everything. Extreamly happy with.how it turned out.
