crazy ac problem

Been having an ongoing ac problem, from intermittently working to not working. Would quit working when the weather was really hot. Anyways, thought the refrigerant was low, compressor would only come on for a second or two before stopping again. First put dye then tried to add refrigerant. Didn't take very much. Thought that it was because the compressor wasn't kicking on. Well while the jeep was still running it blew off excess refrigerant out of the back of the compressor. So I think I have enough! I am thinking that there is blockage somewhere, orifice maybe. Where is the orifice? Anyone have any ideas? I have not read about anywhere about someone having a similar problem.

Man, mine started doing the exact same thing a few weeks ago. I think its a blockage too. Someone told me if it was a blockage, it was most likely the dryer. I think the only issue I am having that you didn't mention is that when it first starting acting up, it would blow chunks of ice at me out the vents. I have not had time to replace it yet because of work and vacation.

No chunks of anything have blown through the vents, just no cold air! When i figure it out I will post the solution.

I kinda wish people wold be more diligent to post their solutions, to make it easier on people searching.
They find a thread, but half of them don't come to a conclusion.
