I don't mean to be harsh as I understand how things like that can get frustrating. Just 6 months after I bought mine, I found I had to tear down the top end of my engine and replace a bunch of crap, which was not an exciting surprise.

That being said, if you fix it up and perhaps do a little preventative maintenance while you're at it, you'll find it will continue to treat you well. All new fluids/tune up/filters, etc. wouldn't hurt since it's 11 years old.

Also, being that it has low miles, maybe it's safe to assume it is an in town vehicle? Keep in mind that short trips are much harder on vehicles than highway miles thus making maintenance more important.
