Cat Converter Skid Plate

Is anyone running a skid plate protecting the cats? They seem really vulnerable.

I'm sure someone around here is running that one. Or several people. It's apparently pretty beefy, and it's apparently on sale right now for $200 down from $250.

Anyone have problems with the cats rubbing or knocking against the plate? Solutions?

To get mine on I would have to push the cat up about 2". I installed it but removed it until I can get to an exhaust shop to see if they can raise the cat up some to clear the skid. Since IRO is about 20 min from where I live I went and talked to them they said they had never heard of any fitment issues but on here a lot of ppl do.

Well that sounds like a pretty useless skid plate then. For $200 or the original $250 asking price you'd think it would fit without much modification. Through more research on this product I have found that more people have had issues than not. I really just feel like those cats are vulnerable and they are too expensive to be slamming off rocks and roots. Back to the drawing board I guess.

kevins off road makes one that is made for the Clayton kit. It bolts onto the unibody frame rails that come in the clayton kit. im not sure if you would have enough clearance if you just bolt it straight to the factory unibody, but its another option for you to look into. it also extremely HD.

I think it varies from wj to wj. I bought the iro skid used from another member and he said he had to move the cat up. It bolted on perfectly for me, no issues. Yes, its very beefy!
