Car wash vs roof rack

So they just put in a new kwik trip with car wash. I was all excited since winter is here to have a new car wash with hopes of keeping the dub clean. Purchased a wash and drove around to find out it has the brushes(it's an automatic wash). I chickened out since I have a rola rack on top. My question is has anyone tempted to run thru one of these with a rack on top? My luck is it will catch onto it and wreck something. Let me know what you guys think. Side note I have my rack mounted directly to the roof bars with hose clamps, not mounted to the cross bars with the stock brackets.

I like my paint as it is.........not with loads of fine length ways lines down it that all auto car washes do if you use them enough due to the bits of grit and dust left in the brushes by the previous user. Hand wash only for me! And you are right the brushes are bound to hook on to the rack at some point and tear it off......then smash it up and down down the side of the Jeep until the wash finishes!

^ This. Touch less or I don't use them. I hand wash my vehicles 95% of the time.

Mud on occasion, but I definitely prefer for it to not be covered in scratches and dents...

I have done exactly what you did, but there was a line so my buddy and i said screw it and went through.. everything was fine until the top roller hit the lightcage on my roof rack.. the whole jeep jerked back hard and i heard a snap up top on what sounded like the carwash roller brush.. the wash stopped immediately and I left as quickly as possible lol. absolutely no damage to my jeep but I have a Conferr rack with a pretty robust mounting that mounts to the bars. I'm not sure about the damage if any to the carwash, I'm thinking and hoping that it was a protection that for just that, i drove by it the next day and it looked like it was still working so i'm guessing it was fine.
