A/C Randomly Turns On
My 00 WJ has the dual-zone climate control, and sometimes my A/C randomly turns on. I noticed this when all of a sudden the air got real cold. I don't have the fan set on AUTO, but it still does it.

Any Ideas Why?

Mine isn't nearly as new as yours, so I don't know for sure about your controls, but on mine, there are two auto functions, one for fan and one for temperature. It's the temperature control that activates the A/C or heater. If you have a temperature number showing in the display, then the control is in auto. You have to select 'OFF' or some other position to control it manually.

yeah, its got the digital display, but I thought the only way it would turn on the A/C was if you pushed the button

Nope, that A/C button is for when you want to run it manually and control which vents it comes out of.

OK, so I'm pretty confused about how to get my climate control on my '97 ZJ to work like a "normal" climate control system. I want to have the vents on, and I'd like some limited control over the incoming air temp, but I don't want the AC to ever kick on unless I tell it to. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?
