Broken Dome Light Rear Driver Handle

Had a bunch of people in the Dubbyajay this weekend. Someone lost their patience and couldn't resist pressing the rear, drivers side assist handle dome light over and over and over. Now it's broken.

They're assuming all cost, but I'm not sure what to buy. Ideally, I'd like to just replace the entire assembly. I've checked www.wjjeeps.com without much help.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, sounds like someone's lucky not to have their fingers broken...

I'm riding around with a dome light on 24/7 now. I was a little disappointed to say the least.

That listing says it's only for the lens, not the assembly. Did I misread that?

Trying to avoid a significant time investment on my part. If it's the only option, I don't mind. Else, I'd prefer to order and have it arrive at my door.

Could always talk to your local dealership.

I just replaced the rear driver's side a couple of weeks ago. I tried buying one from eBay ($20 shipped) and received the handle only (long story short...had to file an ebay claim to get my money back). So make sure it comes with the back light assembly. I ended up getting one for $5 from a local guy that was parting out his WJ. Dealers here in So. Cal all wanted $110 or more.

Good luck..

For anyone who had an interest in this, I ended up not needing to replace the whole handle in the dome light. Each light has a switch. The switch is comprised of a two piece outer shell, spring and detents similar to a ball point pen. It actually functions in much of the same way. These switches are shared by all the dome lights in the cabin. Since they are failure prone I picked up a stock of three or four from the junkyard. Good as new.
