breather or vent line, off left front shock mount?

Noticed something wedged between the engine and the front driveshaft, pulled it, it looks like a hard rubber line. Its melted from touching the exaust, the far end appears to be broken off, the other end terminates at the left front shock mount, with what appears to be a vent cap.

my best guess is front diff vent line... anyone know for sure?

quoted for truth, except the transmission does not have a breather tube, but a breather "port" behind the converter at the top of the case. AgitatedPancake has a post where he added a line to it after he tapped it.
