Exclamation Brake Rotors

Got a quick question here.

My front rotors are starting to warp (noticing excessive brake dust and vibration when applying brake at highway speed).

I remember someone had stated they were looking at replacing their rotors with some ?Bremo? Drilled Rotors?

How did that work? Are they dissapating heat better, extending the life of the rotors? (BTW Im not what you would consider a heavy braker.. I prefer to coast some .. hate braking and wasting that gas )

if you have any pics post installation Id love to see them.

Thanks,

Dan

MY Grand Cherokee's front rotors needed replacing after 12,000 miles. Took it in to the dealer and there was a TSB out on the Front Brake calipers and rotors. They replaced both free of charge. It is still under the factory warranty. Check on the Tech service bulliten

Definately get the Dealer to do it for free under warranty if you have any left - fixing it correctly requires both new rotors and calipers - kinda pricey. The good news is that Chrysler finally fixed the problem and has a good fix. After that, whenever you get tires or have a wheel off, torque the lugs with a torque wrench to avoid warpage. This problem starts when somebody uses an impact wrench set way high on the wheel lugs.

Agreed - but as I just posted on another thread, I hand-torque in a cross-pattern and still get warping. And I always ask tire and repair shops to do the same for me. Argghhh.....

Calling Big Dumb White Guy...

How long have you had those Brembo rotors and how are they holding up?
