Wj Brake and rotor help

Can someone explain to me the difference between the akebono calipers and the teves. i have a 2003 jeep wj

I don't know the exact difference in the caliper itself, but the Teves calipers are prone to warping rotors. You have the Akebono calipers on your '03. Jeep changed from Teves to Akebono in the middle of '02. Why do you ask? I may be able to help if you have a more specific question about the calipers.

The pads for the Teves calipers have longer 'ears' on the ends of the pads compared to the Akebonos.

lol...They have longer ears??? Heck, they are completely different in shape.

Besides the shape difference Teves also has clips on the back.

Right, but when they're mounted on the vehicle you can't really see the pad shape. You can easily see the shape of the ears/tabs/whateveryouwantocallthem though.
