Wj blower motor removal

Well I think my blower motor is starting to die on me. It now makes a loud chirping noise every few seconds that is starting to get really annoying. I've seen write ups on how to change the blower motor resistor but haven't found one on how difficult it is to change a blower motor itself. It is an 04 WJ Laredo with manual AC controls.

Thanks

Piece of cake really... hardest part is the finicky glove box removal otherwise plain sailing.

I don't really see how removing the glove box would help anything..? I had mine out and it's all I took out. It's just three screws from underneath the passenger foot well, I believe Phillips head. The one closest to the passenger door is somewhat hidden behind the passenger kick panel, so removing that may make things easier, but I did it without removing it. Then just unplug it. No big deal.

Just got done changing it. All I can say is that sucked. You were completely right about the one screw behind the kick panel being difficult. It took about an hour to get that thing out and the new one put in

Yeah, I've certainly noticed this vehicle is not always easy to do simple things on. Glad you got it sorted out, though.

So I've noticed that the new blower motor is louder than the factory one. It definitely isn't as quiet as the factory one and I hope that I didn't get a bad blower motor since I don't look forward to changing that again.
