Best affordable AT tire?

I have an 02 limited with 17 inch rogue rims and im looking for an affordable AT tire. I also, have a 2 inch BDS lift. I'm looking at the Cooper discover AT 3 any good? What size with my 2 inch lift? And what size fits in the spare tire well? 245/75/17 or 245/70/17. Not looking to burn a whole in my wallet.

Thanks!

Qbny94, I just got a set of General Tire Grabber AT2's and I could no be happier with them. I have put about a thousand miles on the so far, and they do no have terrible road noise, and work great off road.

No to mention I think they have a great stance and tough tread! Check out their ratings on tirerack and you will also see!

I have a 2" lift and the same tires. 245/75 16 and love them. On road and off they perform well.

I put white on the inside. They come white on the other side. Although I love them I'll admit I really wanted the grabber AT2's but at the time they were on back order everywhere...

Im sorry to hear that! I was actually looking at those Coopers as well, but changed over when I saw the price. At Discount Tire I payed $160 a tire, mounted and balanced.

Actually, I just looked… the tires were the sst maxx

245/70-17 is what you want.

Discoverer AT3 and Grabber AT2 are both great tires. The Grabber carries mountain/snowflake rating but the Discoverer has greater tread depth. Can't really go wrong either way though.

Agreed, you can't go wrong with either tire. Was at a trade show around the time Cooper released the AT3 and they were saying it's the first Cooper tire designed by the Mickey Thompson / Dick Cepek engineers who came over in the acquisition. That's a lot of off-road know how in them tires...

I don't have any experience with the coopers but just finished off a set of the grabber at2's. I got about 55k out of them and they were an awesome tire in everything but mud. That was the only reason I didn't buy them again. A couple of guys I wheel with were running the Goodyear authoriy's from Walmart and they would go through stuff I would never even consider with my grabbers. I never had any luck with Walmart tires in the past so I was pretty hesitant about getting them but a guy at my work runs them on a half ton Chevy. He's got about 20k on them and they look new. So I finally picked up a set and wow am I impressed. These things hook up in the snow, dirt, deep mud, everywhere I tried. I have about 15k on this set so far and they still ride and look great. Best part is they're only 160 a tire for my 31's. The only bad thing I can say about them so far is they hum a little on the highway but not real bad.

That's how I feel about the Nitto Terra Grapplers on my WJ. Damn good EVERYWHERE except mud, they cake up real fast - but then again they are an A/T tire. Without a doubt the best wet pavement tire I've ever run though...
