Bad front axle?
I have a 1999 Jeep Geand Cherokee Laredo with Selectrac and a 4.0. Front axle Dana 30 (stock). When im driving (not all the time, only happens on occasion) around 30 mph the front end starts making a high pitched squeal. I have no clue what it could be other than a possible axle seal considering the passenger side front wheel gets coated with black brake dust or oily dirt all the time. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced.
see if the noise goes away when you mash the brakes.. look for oil slung on the inside of the tire (leaking seal) stuff will get on your brakes and mess them up. would pull the tire and look at the brake in question..mabey your back seals have messed up your rear brakes now your fronts working twice as hard... pictures... more information ?
