Wj Axle Stuff

I just wanna first ask, Are all front axles on a 4.7 d30? Thats my first question. My second question is, how hard is it to change a 2wd front axle to a 4wd as far as matching up the parts and what not? And, im I going to be risking ride qualtiy or having it fall off? Thanks im just curious!

to answer your first question, yes and...

and second... how hard is it ? not that hard, its a matter of rounding up all the parts for a 2WD -> 4WD conversion

front axel, transfercase, new driveshafts front and rear, new shifter assembly and associated cables. can get it all from a donor jeep from the junk yard.

will it fall off ? what kind of question is that... i would sure hope not, but I guess depends on who puts it on

Thanks for the diagram! But yeah I probably wont be doing it myself cause ive never done anything with axles before at all. Im probably gonna have my cousin do it since he replaced his whole rear end on his avalanche so I figured he would be a good choice to do it. And sorry for the dumb question, it sounded better in my head lol Im pretty close to getting the parts all rounded up!
