Anyone using JKS BPE's with Bilstein's?

I received my Bilstein 5100/5125's yesterday! A member on the forum sold me a new set of JKS Bar Pin Eliminators so I was wondering if anyone is using these with bilstein shocks. I know the bar pin on the shocks is pretty good but I figured I might as well use the eliminators since I got a good deal on them.

Also, how the heck do you get the original bar pins out? They are SNUG! Do you just pound them out with a hammer?

Use a bench vice to grab one end of the bar pin and then take a long screwdriver, or a pry bar and pry the shock eye up. Make sure to use grease as a lubricant when assembling the BPE's.

If you're like me, you don't have a table clamp, so pound them out and pound them in- the green hits the green in the pic. If the bar pins are already installed, I don't see why you would replace them with the BPE as that's more work. The top of the shock mounts a little different, I have some pics in my build thread if you want to double check that installation. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f197/...44/index2.html

I didnt use BPE's....i sold mine with the old RCX kit.

Is there a need for BPE's?

I've used BPE's with shocks other than Bilsteins. With Bils, I have had no clunks.

Cool thanks for the responses. Unless someone has a great reason to switch, I think I'm going to lean towards using the bilstein bar pins since they are already in there and constructed well. I can always change them over later if they ever start clunking.

using bar pins will give you a bit more down travel too (0.5"???)

I'm not using bpe's with my Bilsteins. Tried removing the bar bins and without the right tools there was no way I was going to do it without pushing the bushing out or ruining it entirely.
