check to see if you have the updated blower motor resistor. Pull yours out (under glovebox) and see if the heat sink fins are longer (~2"). If so, the blower wires need cut and reversed.

I have this problem too. I never noticed it until I drove my wife's car for a week. I got my GC back and noticed it doesn't blow as hard as he AC does.
It also doesn't put out as much air on the passenger side as the drivers side.

My blend doors work perfectly, and my driver side still has colder air than the other side.

I also have some moisture on the bottom of the blend doors. Any ideas?

My did that. Floor and Defrost blew good not regular vents but one sucked at blowing air out. Manual ac

I had my dash part last week to replace the trim piece above the glove box. Anyway, I took a look at the same issue as everyone with less air to the passenger side. The center vents are one piece but the drivers side of it has a smaller opening from the "Y". That is probably increasing the air flow in comparison to the passenger side of the center vent. Seems to be the way the vehicle is designed......

I know on mine for some reason the passenger vents don't blow near as hard as the driver vents. I too have checked my blend doors. I have replaced the dual blend doors and the re-circ door.
I have this same issue with weak air on the passenger side. Did you find your solution yet?

My solution was the air duct directly behind ur radio . The insulation was worn out and blew air out and not into the vents

I have had a couple of episodes of almost no air coming out of the vents. I can hear that the blower motor is not running, though, or is running at an extremely low speed.

The first time I had this problem, I had just washed the engine compartment and I used an electric blower to dry things off. I blew a bunch of high speed air into the air intake on the firewall. I started messing with the blower and when I disconnected the electrical plug and then reinserted it, it started blowing on full speed.

My blower just went out again while driving tonight. I haven't tried to pull the blower plug again yet to see if it fixes it.

Im curious about this info on reversing the blower wires. I was reading about the resistor on wjjeeps but now Im more confused.

WJhappend, what happens on the auto temp ones is the wires come unsoldiered from the circuit board causing you to loose fan motor power. Jiggling the wires will usually bring air back for a brief bit until you hit a bump or something. I just resoldiered my wires to the module.

I would be curious on some of our issues if our '99, '00, '01, and '02 jeeps flow less air than the '03 and '04 jeeps. The did a upgrade (40% more capacity to air flow) according to WJJeeps.com in the differences section.

If you look at components on rockauto, the cut off for most of our ac items is 02 so they did some changing in that area. I would love to get my hands on a '04 hvac assembly and compare the two side by side as I have one sitting out of a '01.

i have an 04, and i would say the amount of air coming out is pretty bad compared to most other cars. My blend doors work, but not sure if I am missing the foam near the radio like someone else said. The passenger side just doesn't flow near as much as the driver side. My connection was going out too. I just cleaned up the contacts, bent them a little so it would have more pressure. It looked like it had shorted at one point, as the connector was kinda melted near the contacts inside it.

Yea Greg, a couple of screws and pull the fan module out and you can soldier those wires better. Taking the plug out helped me a bit as well, so if I ever replace my fan agian I'll have to re crimp and soldier it on. May have taken a tiny bit of resistance out.

Also, greg, you can pull the radio panel off easily and check most of the rubber from that way. It just pulls straight out. We'll I'm sad now about the '04's not being any better. My mother in law has a Honda Odyssey Mini van with rear air, I think i'm going to find a way to put that rig's parts into the WJ, it will flat run you out! The main line leaving the condensor is like a inch around! and it holds like 32oz of refrigerant vs our 26.

If I knew if another model vehicle fan could be "made" to fit in theWJ I would not mind experimenting to see if we get more CFM out of vents.

Never noticed the passenger side. I know when the sun is shinning my a/c is overpowered. I have some things to check still. May now as have the day off. Or oil change. Pretty spent from the last two weeks. Do you need to pull the dash to clean off the evap?
