Abs light = shifting problems ?

Ok. I have a 2001 jeep grand Cherokee with 4.0. I rebuilt the engine and dropped it in. Starts up fine and runs good now. It'll go in reverse and drive and won't shift out of first gear. The abs light is on. Will the abs system have anything to do with it not shifting ? Thanks
