Wj 99 limited v8 with d35?

I was under my girlfriends jeep today and noticed the pinion seal was leaking it it has a d35 (roundish cover, rubber fill plug). I thought all limiteds had the d44a?

are you sure it's a D35? the 44A also has a rubber fill plug. you can take you VIN to the dealer and they can print the original build sheet (my dealer called it the 'VIP Summary Report'). the code for the D44 is DRKP. the PO could have swapped it out...but i can't imagine why

Just put a magnet on the center section to end all doubt. All v8s should have had a 44a.
