99 Grand Cherokee Driver door problem

Hello Forum,

Im new here so hello! I have a problem that has stumped me for the longest time, my drivers door isn't being sensed as being opened. It always thinks that the door is closed. A couple of times it would sense it and say on the heads up display that its open and the lights go on but most of the time its off and just shows the compass and temp(as if all doors are shut).

Does anyone have any idea on a fix for this or at least an idea on an area to start? I did repair the ground in the door boot and the controls work on the door but wont sense it being open.

Thanks
Rob
