99 Grand Cher. roof crushed by a tree

My 99 Grand Cherokee Laredo just got the roof crushed in by a tree here in the Northeast Saturday.Wow what a mess and to find out my auto insurance had only liability.I had given the car to my son and hes heartbroken. Can you replace a roof or is there anyone who has kits.I guess Im looking for advice to try to keep this great vehicle on the road.Is it worth it??Ill send anyone a pic if they care to see what an 80 ft. tree can do while parked in your driveway. Thanks guys......glenn

Can a roof be replaced?
Yes.
Is it worth it?
No.
The cost of that work will be well more than the Jeep is worth.

Part it out, or buy another wrecked Jeep and use it for donor parts.

You could cut the roof off but you don't really sound like the type who would do that.

I rolled my jeep over and crushed the passenger side b piller in and destroyed both doors. I was able to use a body jack to push the roof back up and the piller back into place. Two new doors and it is almost as good as new! It can be done. It cost me about 500 bucks and alot of hours.

How many miles did it have on it? I'd say your best chance at minimizing the loss is to part the ol' girl out.

If the roof is crushed, its totaled for sure. The a or b or c or d pillars, doors, and other stuff it probably messed up too. Thats a few thousand at a body shop.

That's a prime candidate for a roofless conversion to a roll caged buggy. I think that's about all that can be done at this point other than parting it out.

its not completely crushed. looks like you need a new front windshield and driver door. the roof to be poped out and fixed.

probably can get a body shop to fix the body and paint it for 1 or 2 k so just ask around and see what people estimate the price. look around for a used door to get painted to match or one of the same color. the glass might be able to get used.

i know their is a guy with a part out in update NY that like a 2.5 hour driver from Brooklyn for me, but don't know were you are in NJ.

all depends how much you want to spend on it.

can all ways as a auto school to work on it and maybe save some $$

the storm the past weekend did allot of damaged. my jeep was attacked by singles and i have cosmetic damaged

Popped out? Lol we're not talkn about a dented fender. The a pillar and roof is pretty important to the structure and a little more complicated than popping it straight again. Would you want to pop that out then get in an accident with your family in it? Sure if you know what you're doing and have time it could be fixed but not something you want to try for the first time or have old joes shop take care of
