99 4.7 exhaust size?

I'm installing a Flowmaster 40 2.5" muffler later on today, but I don't know what adpaters I will need.
can anyone help me by telling me the size of my exhaust, and if you know, what adapters i exactly need?

Thanks JF!

I can't be sure about your 99, but my 01 had a 2.25 inch pipe between the cat and muffler and then 2.5 inch after the muffler. So, you might want to get an adapter for the muffler inlet.

If you got the flowmaster kit for your WJ, it should come with the adapter. Mine did. and I believe it is 2.25 from the cat to the muffler.

Nah It's a used FM 40 from my friends 96 Impala SS.

So I'll need a 2.25 ID or OD to a 2.5 ID or OD?

It would be 2.25 ID for connection to the pipe from the cat. But, since the muffler is used, it would depend on whether the other end has to go over a piece of 2.5 pipe welded to the muffler inlet (2.5 ID) or will be able to slip into the muffler inlet (2.5 OD).
