4" lift kit for WJ; Country, BDS or Zone?
Hi guys, I've just purchased a 2001model WJ V8 and I'm looking to beef it up with a lift kit and mud tyres, I've seen a few kits on eBay for $500(without track bar) or $750 with, any suggestions?

Are you going short arm or long arm? BDS has a lifetime no bs warranty. IRO is really good too.

I have no idea what that means, but I need to maintain the correct camber on the wheels. I recently did a Hilux and that was complicated compared to what I see on this Jeep. I'm wondering if I could get away with just longer shocks and springs with disconnects only? Possible?

You'll need at least new front lower control arms and a track bar.

I see, then that's the kit I had in mind anyway ($750). Though it worries me when they say it could cause vibration in the driveshaft in AWD models, I though all Cherokees where AWD??? Anyhow, if anyone has installed one these kits and had any problems, please advise.
BTW - any ideas on what is the absolute maximum size tyre can be fitted with these 4" lifts? I want the widest and tallest possible using the standard 17" rims.

I'm on a phone so I can't link you the chart but there is the chart in the WJ FAQ. It could cause vibrations and premature wear on your u joints on the front drive shaft. Overlands have the better front drive shaft and in most cases are okay.

The parts are cheap and ride cheap. If you want to keep loving your Jeep then spend the extra money.

It was written in jest. Hence the little smiley fella. Search the forum for all you could care to know about RC.

There are more people here that have had zero issues with rc than there are people who've had issues. Most people (no names being listed) have never even ran the kit and just hate on it because it is more than $1000 cheaper than what they spent their money on. I ran the rcx kit on my last jeep and loved it. In August, ill be picking up their new long arm kit.

Just in case you intended part of your statement to refer to me, yes, I hate on RC because I spent more money on my Clayton kit and regret it. You nailed it perfectly, buddy.

On a radius set-up, the mounting point of the front lowers arms are moved back to lengthen the arms and flatten the angle of the arms that results when lifting a vehicle. Simple as that. A lifted short arm vehicle's arms look like this / whereas a lifted long arm vehicle is more flat.
