Wj $33 for 2 qts of NP247 Juice...

Walked in the $tealer$hip, asked the wrong guy how much to change the transfer case fluid on my 04 WJ. Reply was $56, if it went well, $40. My reply was "not to bad, I understand it can cost $100 for the fluid", came to realize that that was the cost of parts and labor! Due to time constraints, walked out with 2 quarts of "AC" fluid for $33. WTF am I thinking!

I don't know where you are paying $100 or more for fluid alone but you'd be getting ripped big time.

I paid like $30 for mine and did it myself in my driveway. It's super easy. Pull out drain plug, replace, remove fill plug, fill, put plug back in. Takes less than 2 quarts I think. Certainly less than 3qts.

Free tip: break both the fill and drain plugs loose before starting. You'll be real pissed when your drain plug comes loose easily and the fill plug is a pain when your TC has no fluid in it with no way to get more in.

Swap to a 242 and only $10 to change the fluid with regular atf or honey or vegetable oil. Doesn't matter in the 242, lol.
