30,000 mile check up

Afriend of mine is taking her 2001 GC to the dealer for the 30k check up. Is it worth bringing it in? Does any one know what the dealer does for this? It seems it might be a waste of money if they are just checking fluid levels and such. Is this something I can do or strictly a dealer thing. I am more than a little mechanically inclined so is this soemthing I can do for her?

Sold it: 2001 TJ SE w/ 31" ProComp MT's on Alum. Alloys, K&N, custom rock sliders/steps, 1 3/4" BB, 1" body lift, 1"MML, 9k winch on custom bumpers

Get a quote from the dealer, then look at the schedule in the owner's manual for the recommended services. I would do it myself and save a bunch of money.

When I had my 99 WJ (laredo, v8, every stinkin option except the smoker's pkg and cd-changer) I took it to the dealer because I was young and stupid. Over $430 (or so, it's been over 3 years) later I got it back with new fluids, windows washed, and carpet shampooed.
Check the manual - not a lot gets done at 30k except fluids. Not worth it in my book.
