247 j?

I have a 2000 wj with a 247 j transfer case. is this a np 247 or is this j mean something? I need a chain and don't know if I should order the one for the np247. I tore down the t case because it was doing that popping thing where it sounds like the chain is slipping. I am also doing a mod, I removed the viscous coupler and welded the sliding sprocket in so I will have full lock up in lo and hi, this is a off road rig only so I was not worried about on road performance. If someone could tell me about the chain it would be much appreciated, Thanks.

If it doesn't have a motor I don't want to play with it!

Well I guess I'll just take my chances, I guess no one knows what I'm talking about.

If its an offroad rig only get a 231. Probably less then buying a new chain.

I ordered one for $100 so not to bad, t case seems good otherwise and with that viscous coupler out I think it will fill my needs.

I've seen couplers go bad all the time. I just had to do one on my mother's Mountaineer. I hope it's just the chain for you.
